Birchbox Subscription Box Review & Coupon - June 2015

Boxometry Birchbox June 2015 Review - Adventure Box

The June 2015 Birchbox is about "celebrating adventure, saying yes, trying new things." I love travelling when I have the time, so I am always up for adventure. As a subscription box addict, I try out new brands and new products on a daily basis. If you are subscribed, you are automatically entered into a giveaway this month. The box included a card with an URL where you can find out what prize(s) you've won. I never have much luck with these things, so hopefully you got something better than a 20% off code.

Boxometry Birchbox June 2015 Review - Detail Card

The box comes with a card detailing all of the items. The prices reflect the full-size products, not the sample versions in the box.

Boxometry Birchbox June 2015 Review - COOLA SPF 50 Sport - Mango

Product: COOLA SPF 50 Sport - Mango (0.5 oz)
Retail Value: $3.20

This sunscreen smells like mango and pina colada. The cream is smooth, non greasy, and rubs in well. It's perfect for the blazing summer sun, especially for our upcoming trip where it'll be over 100 degrees fahrenheit. I've been meaning to try out the COOLA brand since they make organic products, and I’m liking it so far.

Boxometry Birchbox June 2015 Review - Marcelle Waterproof Eyeliner

Product: Marcelle Waterproof Eyeliner
Retail Value: $7.70

I received this eyeliner in Electric Blue. which is not a color I prefer. My eyeliner colors are usually black or brown. With that said, this eyeliner works very well and glides on easily, providing a smooth finish. Unfortunately, this color does not work for me, so I'm a little sad because I actually like this eyeliner.

Boxometry Birchbox June 2015 Review - Real Chemistry Luminous 3-Minute Peel

Product: Real Chemistry Luminous 3-Minute Peel (0.17 oz)
Retail Value: $4.80

This peel has great reviews so I was pretty excited to try it. I followed the instructions on the box, and ended up getting redness on my cheeks. Although my skin felt super soft afterwards, I think I might be allergic to something in the ingredients. Sadly, I will have to discontinue using the product.

Boxometry Birchbox June 2015 Review - TOCCA Eau de Parfum Bianca

Product: TOCCA Eau de Parfum, Bianca (0.05 oz)
Retail Value: $2.00

I was just thinking "Why am I getting more perfume samples?" until I smelled it and really liked it. My favorite fragrance is citrus, and this perfume is a light sparkling citrus blend of Lemon Orpur and Mandarin, along with Green Tea and Rose. That is really the perfect combination for me. I think I just discovered a new favorite perfume!

Boxometry Birchbox June 2015 Review - W3LL PEOPLE The Expressionist Mascara

Product: W3LL PEOPLE The Expressionist Mascara
Retail Value: $5.00

The container does not show the size information, so the value is estimated. While this mascara does provide length, it does not give much volume. After wearing it for a few hours, some of it rubbed off. I am not really a fan so far.

Boxometry Birchbox June 2015 Review - Emi Jay Hair Tie

Product: Emi Jay Hair Tie
Retail Value: $2.60

This is my bonus item for June. I can never get enough hair ties, so I put this one to use immediately. Although I like pink, this one is a bit bright. I can wear it around the house though.

ProductsRetail Value
COOLA SPF 50 Sport - Mango (0.5 oz) $3.20
Marcelle Waterproof Eyeliner $7.70
Real Chemistry Luminous 3-Minute Peel (0.17 oz) $4.80
TOCCA Eau de Parfum, Bianca (0.05 oz) $2.00
W3LL PEOPLE The Expressionist Mascara $5.00
Emi Jay Hair Tie $2.60
Total $25.30

Final Thoughts: I was excited about most of the products included in this month's box. Unfortunately, the eyeliner color didn't work out even though I like the eyeliner itself, and I had a skin reaction to the Real Chemistry Peel. As much as I wish I can use them, they just aren't right for me. Overall, the June box ended up being more of a mixed bag since not all of the items I wanted to try and like worked out in the end.
